Cami was born on a hot summer day in August of 2010. Cami’s owner was the head of a factory yard and raised Cami, her four siblings, and her mother in the backyard. He did not properly feed the dogs and habitually abused Cami and her family. Whenever the owner was gone for extended periods, Cami and her family would leave the property and go into town to find food. Reportedly, the abusive owner was planning on eating Cami and her siblings once they reached a certain weight. Then unexpectedly, Cami got pregnant at 6 months old, and gave birth to 9 puppies! Because of this, the owner decided to give away Cami’s siblings and sell Cami and her mother to a dog meat restaurant. Fortunately, one of the CARE members found out about this and convinced the owner to sell them to her. The CARE member was able to buy Cami and her 9 puppies, but failed to purchase the rest of the dogs because the owner refused to sell them.

Cami and her 9 puppies were fostered for 2 months until they were adopted. Thanks to CARE members, 7 of Cami’s puppies were adopted by nice, loving families. Currently, Cami and her 2 babies live in CARE’s shelter waiting to be adopted. She is very quiet and friendly to females. But because of her abusive experience, Cami is still very scared of men. When men approach Cami, she freezes and hides her face. She has a 7cm-long scar on her back (from the abusive owner). The veterinary doctor said that hair would never be able to grow over the scarred area because the hair roots had been damaged.
