Ling Ling lived with his buddy in Daegu forest and survived by eating scraps and garbage. One day, his buddy died in a car accident. Ling Ling refused to leave the spot where his buddy had died. One of the neighbors felt sorry for Ling Ling and brought him food, but Ling Ling refused to eat it.

Once informed of Ling Ling’s story, CARE set out to rescue him. When we arrived, he was extremely afraid of people and unable to make eye contact with us.

In attempt to improve Ling Ling’s social skills and help him, one of the CARE members fostered Ling Ling right after the rescue. The foster mom sang songs and read books to him. Slowly but surely, Ling Ling began to build trust with his foster family. But, because of Ling Ling’s past, he developed separation anxiety and would trash the house whenever the foster mom was away. Finally, the foster family decided to give him up for adoption.

Ling Ling is currently in our shelter waiting for a new loving home.
